I.S.R. racing will make it to the track this coming weekend at the circuit of Sivlerstone (UK) for the second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup 2017.
The Czech outfit will field the n.75 Audi R8 LMS driven by Filip Salaquarda (CZ), Clemens Schmid (AUT) and Frank Stippler (GER). The drivers will try and confirm the great performance shown two weeks ago in Monza when, after a weekend run as protagonists, only an issue with a tyre a few laps to the end of the race stripped them of a podium finish.
Conditions in Silverstone are going to be quite different, due to the features of the track and to weather that is always a worry in the UK. Weather forecasts talk about possible rain showers affecting the whole weekend, which could make this round quite tricky.
The 5.891 kms of Silverstone are a real motorsport temple and I.S.R. racing will have to do its best on some of the most famous corners in the history of motor-racing like the tricky Maggots-Becketts-Chapel complex, the slow Luffield or the technical Stowe that comes after the heavy braking at the end of the Hangar Straight.
The weekend will start with free practice on Saturday at 10:45 (GMT +1), pre-qualifying will then follow at 16:10. Qualifying will take place on Sunday morning at 9:45, while the three hours long race will get underway at local 14:55.
Motorsport TV will cover the event in Europe, while Eurosport will show the race live and highlights on Tuesday May 16th. Live streaming with English and French commentary will be available at www.blancpain-gt-series.com .
Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
“We itch to get back on track after the round of Monza. The track of Silverstone is quite different, therefore it will be like starting again from scratch, but the great performance put in by Filip, Clemens and Frank in Italy and their feeling with the Audi R8 LMS could make us fight for a strong result. A wise and effective approach is needed as the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup is always quite tight, the race is long and there are a lot of factors that can shuffle the cards. We will try to build our result taking it one step at a time”.
